CLARK, Alvaro Barrett was born about 1841 in Lee County, Iowa the son of John Wesley Clark and Lorenia Church and the brother of Carlos B. Clark. He married Adelaide V. Wescott October 31, 1864 in Will County, Illinois and they were the parents of three children, Edward, Frankie M. and Homer D. He served in the 13th Regiment, Illinois Cavalry and the 132nd Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. He was a farmer. He was shot and killed allegedly by the hired hand who was having an affair with his wife. The wife and hired hand were indicted for the murder and brought to trial but were found not guilty due to only circumstantial evidence. He was raised a Master Mason November 27, 1866. He died August 14, 1878 in LaGrange, Cook County, Illinois and was buried in the Boardman Cemetery, Bolingbrook, Illinois.
