In 1880 Census of West Newton Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota on page 28, dwelling #185, family #191, Heinrick Ladwig (census taker had his name as Andrew Ladwig). His brother-in-law, Herman Steffen, wife Ricke. and family were living next door in dwelling #184.
In the 1880 Agricultural Census of West Newton Township, page 26, June 23, 1880, his name was incorrectly written as Andrew Lendwic. He owned 180 acres of land. 80 acres were tilled land, 10 acres pasture and 70 acres unimproved.

(Near bottom of stone, two small lines written in German, bottom of monument badly worn, writing illegible.)
Headstone is white marble slab with rounded top, broken off at the base and was laying on the ground in 1996, limestone base plush with ground 12" x 29" (Tombstone standing upright in 2015.)
The top of the tombstone has a carving, possibly of a rose, but the stone is too badly worn to be sure.
