Funeral services for John Berning, 69, of Hoagland rural route No 1, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 3:15 o'clock Monday morning at his home, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock (CST) at the residence, and 2 o'clock at St Peter's Lutheran church in Adams county, Rev LJ Dornself officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body was returned to the residence Monday from the Zwick funeral home at Decatur. The deceased was a member of St Peter's church. Born in Adams county, he had resided in Allen county 38 years. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs Phil Weick and Mrs Ivan Parrish of this city and Mrs Henry W Hockemeyer of Decatur; two sons, Otto and Leo Berning of Hoagland; a brother George Berning of Adams county ;two sisters, Mrs William Gallmeyer of Adams county and Mrs Lawrence Koenemann of this city and eight grandchildren.
