Finley S. Whitlock Sr.
Finley Stuart Whitlock Sr., 82, of George Street in Winchester, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the VA Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Whitlock was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Winchester, and was a son of Abe Whitlock and Ruth Good Whitlock.
He was in the Army for 31 years and served during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam with honors and medals. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Whitlock was a member of the Highland Memorial Presbyterian Church, the VFW, American Legion and other local clubs.
His wife, Ann M. Whitlock, preceded him in death Oct. 10, 2003. They were married Sept. 6, 1976.
Survivors include a daughter, Fynthia E. Anderson of Broadway, and a son, Finley S. Whitlock Jr. of Winchester.
The Rev. Philip W. Sommer will conduct a graveside service 10 a.m. Friday at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
