Obituary, The Odon Journal, Odon, Indiana, Friday, June 9, 1905, page 1:
"JOHN DOOLIN DROWNED.
While fishing in Killion pond three miles northwest of Plainville, John Doolin of Steele township was drowned Sunday. The unfortunate young man was fishing with a gig, wading around in the shallow water, when he had a sudden attack of epilepsy and fell over, face downward into the water. His death was caused by strangulation.
Doolin was twenty seven years of age and was the son of George Doolin living three miles north of Plainville. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon. Burial in the cemetery near Cincinnati school house."
