A life-long resident of San Saba County who worked as a stockfarmer died Thursday, April 14, at the Brownwood Community Hospital. He was Bryant Ellis, 70, who was born Oct. 5, 1906, the son of John Ellis and the former Maggie Speagle.
Services were held Sunday, April 17 in San Saba Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roland Murray officiating. Burial was in the Sloan Cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews; Wayland Mann, Prentis Mann, Larry Ellis and Buck Gaddy.
Ellis married the former Thelma Eckert in San Saba County on Oct 15, 1932. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife who resides in the Northwest Nursing Home in Austin, two sons, Sloan Ellis of San Saba and Bryan Kent Ellis of Brownwood; one brother, Creed Ellis of San Saba; one sister, Mrs. K.K. Taylor of Richland Springs, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
