Gibson City May 12, 1930 - Edward George Bell, pioneer resident of this city, passed away Sat. night from infirmities of old age. He was 72 years old.
Mr. Bell was born June 11, 1857 in Providence, R. I. and married Mary Robinson in Council Bluffs, Iowa March 17, 1880. They moved to Neb. but late in the same year returned to Ill. They made the trip by covered wagon.
Mr. Bell for over 30 years farmed near Gibson City. He and his family then moved to town where they resided ever since. He was a veteran woodworker of this place and had a shop for several years.
Surviving is a son, M. E. Hugh Bell of San Gabriel, Calif. He was preceded by a daughter, Elizabeth a number of years ago. Five children also survive. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Modern Woodmen of American. Burial in Waggoner Cemetery.
