Lillian Anderson Loses Battle With T.B.

Lillian Ellenora Anderson, 24, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Anderson of Florence, passed away, Friday, October 11, at the Portland Open Air Sanitorium, where she was taken a month ago, from southern California where she spent the previous year and a half, hoping that sunny climes would aid her in regaining her health. A heart attack hastened her end.

Lillian, whose sunny smile and sweet disposition endeared her to all, was born in Stanwood, May 1, 1911. After attending the Stanwood Union High School, she graduated from the Pacific Lutheran college at Parkland. She continued her course at the University of Washington, where she became affiliated with the Phi Omega Pi sorority. After a year and a half attendance she was stricken, and for four and a half years every effort that love and money could devise were exerted to save her life, without avail. Miss Anderson was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her parents, and three brothers, Orville, Alfred and Carston at home, two aunts, Mrs. Alfred Ryan and Mrs. Carl Ryan. She was the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. O. Ryan of Stanwood.

Last rites were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran church of which she was a member with Rev. S. J. N. Ylvisaker, officiating. The vested choir sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "The Great Deliverance".
The pallbearers were Ivar Boe, Lloyd Leverson, Don Willhite, Lloyd Floe, Ivar Folden and Tom Esary. Lillian was laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Aaron Light of Mount Vernon.
