He was a lifelong truck driver and loved the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty B. Abbott; his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister; and 2 nephews.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Tabatha Abbott of Dawsonville and Stanley and Gwinn Abbott of Cumming; stepchildren, Holly and Joe Bruce of Cumming and Dennis Hall of Dahlonega; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hubbard and Rev. Dean Pugh officiating.
Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 9:00 am until hour of service.
