Kansas City Times, 14 Feb 1972, Pg 4A Excerpts from Article "Two Die in Area Wrecks":
Dollie M. Amos... Police said Mrs. Amos was killed and her daughter, Rowana Raines, 30, of the home, injured when the car her daughter was driving collided with a vehicle driven by Melvin R. Brewer, 18, of Raytown.
Raytown police said Brewer was driving north on Blue Ridge Cutoff near 59th Terrace when his car skidded on wet pavement and collided with the Raines vehicle. Brewer was not injured. Mrs. Raines was in good condition last night at Research Hospital with a broken knee cap.

[The accident was picked up by the Associated Press and reported in several newspapers across Missouri, including Kansas City Star & Times, Sedalia Democrat, Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, Springfield Leader, and Daily American Republic (Poplar Bluff, Mo.)]

Mrs. Dollie M. Amos, 59, of Kansas City*, will be Thursday, in Glendale, Okla.; burial in Glendale. She was born in Leslie, Ark., and lived in this area three years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence. She leaves a son, Elmer Amos, Wister, Okla.; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Hall of the home; Capt. Frances Amos, with the Air Force in the Philippines; Mrs. Dalliah Newman, Fort Smith, Ark., and Mrs. Rowena Raines, Raytown; her step-mother, Mrs. Una Johns, Leslie, Ark., and seven grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the Earp Truman Road Chapel.
