Lady Dies In the Night
Mrs. Chas. Babb Dies of Heart Failure

Mrs. Charles Babb died during the night of Tuesday, her husband finding her lifeless body when he returned to the home early on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Babb had been a sufferer from heart trouble since a girl of fourteen, and had been known to be in danger of sudden demise for many months.
The death was entirely unexpected, she having been seemingly in unusually good condition during the past few weeks. She had spent the past two weeks in the mountains, and had returned on Monday. Monday evening she drove to Willows to spend the evening with friends, and returned in the best of spirits. Mr. Babb had undertaken the work of night watch during the vacation of Mr. Gish, and this was his first night on the beat. He patrolled the streets till about four o'clock in the morning, and upon returning home found the body of his wife, still warm, but life extinct.
Mrs. Babb was a young woman, only 34 years of age. She and her husband and daughter came to Orland about ten years ago, from their former home at Hillsboro, Oregon, and this had been their home since. The daughter, Aileen, who was a small girl when coming here, is now married, the wife of John Marshall of Willows. Mrs. Babb's mother, Mrs. Cloake makes her home in this city, and with the sorrowing husband and daughter mourn the loss of one dear to them all.
The funeral is to be held tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, from the Adventist church. – Transcribed by E.
