Frances Aldinger, 85, of Isabella, died Sunday January 5, 2014 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center.

She was born September 30, 1928 to Johannes and Adelheid (Mueller) Hildebrand in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where she grew up and attended schools. She met Clemens Aldinger while he was stationed in Germany with the U. S. Army, and they were married in Toronto in 1951. She and Clemens moved to the Isabella area in 1954, and Frances worked as a government contract tree planter for five years and cooked at the National Forest Lodge for many years. She was also caregiver for her grandson Brent for 27 years, and worked for the Forest Service Senior Program and sold Avon products.

Frances enjoyed feeding birds, gardening, growing tomatoes on her porch and dice.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Clemens, a daughter, Susan Aldinger; and grandsons, Brent Aldinger and Brian Butala.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald C. (Mary) Aldinger and Darren A.C. (Amanda) Aldinger both of Finland; a daughter Doreen V. Butala of Isabella; sisters, Ingaborg (Karl) Loosen of Cloquet and Adelgunde (Walter) Treiber of Germany; grandsons, Justin and Joshua (Katie) Aldinger; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Ivy and Grant Aldinger; niece and nephew, Belinda and Arthur Loosen.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Friday January 10, 2014 at the Clair Nelson Center in Finland. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
