William M. Berry, a well known and life-long resident of Canonsburg, died at his home, 139 West Pike street, Thursday morning about 11 o'clock, after a long illness of a complication of diseases, aged 63 years 2 months and 18 days. Mr. Berry was born in Canonsburg October 20, 1850, in a house that stood in Central avenue, near the plant of the Canonsburg Milling Company.
He was a stationery engineer by occupation and for seventeen years was engineer at the Canonsburg Flouring Mill, and during that lime was at his post every day except when detained at home by illness. He had been in failing health the past three years and had been unable to follow his occupation. On March 13 last he suffered a stroke of paralysis, since which time he had been confined to his bed the greater part of the time.
He is survived by three brothers and two sisters: Sarah and Martha, who lived with Mr. Berry; James of Mars, Pa., and Frank and David of Canonsburg.
Funeral services will be held at the late home 139 West Pike street, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Speer Spring cemetery.
