Betty Ann Albrecht, age 80 of Pigeon, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, October 25 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon after a brief illness.

The former Betty King was born in Marion, Ohio on April 19, 1926, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Augsburger) King. On July 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to John Edwin Albrecht at Elida, Ohio.

Betty Albrecht was a homemaker throughout her lifetime, enjoying crocheting, puzzles, cooking, and flower and vegetable gardening. She was an avid quilter, making a quilt for each of her grandchildren. In her later years she enjoyed surfing the internet and keeping in touch with friends and family by e-mail.

Betty Albrecht worked as a bookkeeper prior to her marriage. She worked part-time for USA Schools as a cook and part-time as a cashier at the Rummel Grocery Store in Sebewaing.
She was a member of the Pigeon River Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the sewing circle, and taught Bible School and Sunday School. She was also a sponsor/advisor of church youth camping trips.

In addition to John Albrecht, her husband of 58 years, she was survived by four children and their spouses, Linda and Joe Christophel of Goshen, Indiana, Suzanne and Eugene Gascho of Pigeon, John M. and Dottie Albrecht of Mantua, Ohio, and Kevin and Jan Albrecht of Duncombe, Iowa; 12 grandchildren: Jennifer (Nathan), Jonathan, Susan, Jeremy, Kyle, Jalissa, Kayleen, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jay, and Kelsey; two great-grandchildren, Jalen and Sofia; a sister, Freda Milne of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Paul (Lois) King and Robert (Jill) King, both of Sarasota, Florida; in-laws, Clark Breneman of Ada, Ohio and Lala King of Sarasota, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Breneman; a brother, John King; and a brother-in-law, Robert Milne.

Funeral Services: Pigeon River Mennonite Church, Pigeon, with Pastors Thomas Beachy and Luke Yoder officiating.
