Roy B. Ayers, 71, of Route 1, Walker, died Wednesday at Camden - Clark Memorial Hospital.
Ayers was an iron worker with Local 787 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist, and a member of American Legion Post 15, VFW Post 1212 and DAV 14.
He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late Thomas and Liza Hornbeck Ayers.
He is survived by his wife, Flora "Louise" Kelley Ayers; one daughter, Latricia Valentine of Grantsville; one grandson, Gerrod Valentine of Grantsville; and one brother, Hosey Ayers of Clarksburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Ayers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Lambert - Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Raymond Ray officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Cairo.
