Surviving are his parents; 10 brothers, Mark (and Jamie), James, Paul, Jason, Aaron, Nathan, David, Dennis and Lewis, all of Tremont, and Carl of Mackinaw; three sisters, Karen Baer, Suzanne Baer and Megan Baer, all of Tremont; and his grandparents, Aaron and Mary Ellen Neukumm of Cissna Park and Benjamin Baer of East Peoria.
He was a freshman at Tremont High School. He attended German Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria.
