Olen Carl Barjenruch 64 of Mexico died unexpectly on Saturday May 28, 2011 in Columbia while attending the Branchi National Shooting Match.
Funeral service will be held at 10a.m. Thursday at Arnolds Funeral home with Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating, burial will follow with military honors in the Mo. State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville Mo.
Olen was born May 26, 1947 in Norfolk Neb. the son of Oliver and Ester (Fuchs) Barjenbruch . On April 18, 1973 in St Louis he was united in marriage to Peggy A. Wanner.
Mr Barjenbruch graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and performed his past graduate work at the University of Mo. He worked in Archeology at both universities and spent most of his life managing the Barjenbruch farm. Olin was a veteran of the U.S. Ary served during the Vietnam War. He earned an Eagle Scount at the age of 13, was a active member of NRA and a avid gun collector, especially historic guns. Olin was a scholar in History Archeology and German. He was also a member of New York Metropolitan Opera Guld and the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his mother, Ester of Columbia, his wife Mrs Peggy Barjenbruch of Mexico, two children, Karl and Jesse Barjenbruch, adopted God child Alvin Hernandez, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins and his dog Shadow.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver.
