Visitation for Sylvia Almira (Rogers) Ahlf, 91, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash. Graveside service is planned for noon Friday at the Reardan (Wash.) Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan. Mrs. Ahlf, who was born near Reardan, died Sunday. She was a lifelong Reardan resident until moving to Lacey 14 years ago. She graduated from Reardan High School and Cheney Normal School. She taught school in the Washington communities of Reardan, Mondovi and the Horse Heaven Hills. She also was a homemaker. Mrs. Ahlf was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lacey. In Reardan she was a member of the Spring Creek Grange, the Order of Eastern Star and Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Her husband of 40 years, Herman, died in 1974. Survivors include two sons, Ken Ahlf of Lacey and Ron Ahlf of Shelton, Wash.; four brothers, Carl Rogers of Reardan, Tom Rogers of Lewiston, Idaho, and Daryl and Vern Rogers, both of Spokane; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Mrs. Ahlf died Sunday, Oct 14, at Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia. She had been living in Lacey during the past 14 years. Born March 2, 1910, to William H. and Edna M. (Beeman) Rogers in the Devils Gap area north of Reardan, she graduated from Reardan High School and Cheney Normal School. She taught school in Reardan, Mondovi and the Horse Heaven Hills. A homemaker for much of her life, she belonged to St Mark Lutheran Church in Lacey, and the Spring Creek Grange and Eastern Star in Reardan. She was a past member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan. Her husband of 40 years, Herman, died in 1974. Four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. She leaves two sons, Ken (and Marilyn) Ahlf of Lacey and Ron (and Phyllis) Ahlf of Shelton; four brothers, Carl Rogers of Reardan, Tom Rogers of Lewiston, ID, Daryl and Vern Rogers, both of Spokane; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
