A new danger has been discovered
in the creameries. It is the bursting
of the centrifugal cream separator,
which has become so popular of late
because it gets more cream from the
the same amount of milk than can be
obtained by any other process. We
briefly mentioned in our last the killing
of O. S. Dunn, of the Burlington
factory, a few miles east of us. Just
how or why the separator burst is not
yet known. This separator was one of
the first used in Illinois, and Mr.
Dunn had been running it for two
years. He was a very intelligent
young married man, a former resident
of Kirkland where he served as correspondent
for THE TRUE REPUBLICAN,
He has since taught school in
Burlington. One of Mr. Dunn's legs
was torn from his body by a flying
fragment.
