Clarence Andrew Anderson, 70, died Sunday at Mt. Grant Hospital. Anderson was born December 6, 1903 in Des Moines, Iowa but lived most of his life in Nevada. An accomplished pianist, Mr. Anderson played with bands for many years in the Reno and Sparks area, and was also employed for several years in a music store where it was customary to have a competent pianist "introduce" sheet music to customers. He moved to Hawthorne with his family in the 1940's and for several years had his own dance band which played regularly in local clubs and for most of the public dances over a long period of time. For a number of years he was employed by the local school district and in more recent years by the county as custodian of the courthouse. He is survived by his widow Thelma, of Hawthorne; and sons Dwight, of Hawthorne, Lawrence C. and Ronald, both of Reno; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were held at the Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel with burial at the Hawthorne Cemetery.
