Claude J. Baker passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009.
Graveside service: Thursday, March 5, in Dolberg Cemetery, Sulphur, Okla. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Arlington First United Methodist Church.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allstar Hospice of Arlington or the Alzheimer's Association.
Claude was born March 22, 1922, in Mannsville, Okla., to William A. and Ada Belle Easley Baker. He served in the Army from 1942-1945 in Europe, re-enlisted in 1951 and served in Korea until 1955. In 1957, he went to work at the U.S. Public Service Hospital in Seattle, Wash., as a cook until his retirement in 1986. They then moved to his hometown of Sulphur, Okla., and worked at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital as a cook from 1988-1997. They moved to Arlington in 2000 to be closer to their children. Claude was a member of Arlington First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors: His wife, Mary of Arlington; son, Jeffrey; daughter, Cathleen, both of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Brewer of Seattle, Wash., Nancy Yadrick of Montesano, Wash., and Helen Baker of Sulphur, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
