Delmar Charles Bond, age, 78 of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Mercy Hospital Aurora.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 14 at the Assembly of God Church in Seneca. Rev. Tim McGeorge, officiating. Interment at Elliott Cemetery in Elliott, IL.
Visitation is from 9:00-11:00 am Friday, at the Church.
Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca, IL is in charge of arrangements.
Delmar was born March 29, 1930 in Roberts, IL, the son of Elmer and Mabel (Hamblin) Bond.
He married Carol Howardson on April 20, 1989 in Ottawa. He worked as a mechanic for Caterpillar in Montgomery, IL for 30 years retiring in 1991. He also served as a U.S. Marine in Korea during the Korean War. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Seneca for 35 years, during this time he served as a Deacon and Head Usher. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Sandwich.
Survivors include his spouse, Carol Bond; one daughter, Gail (Steve) Hendricks of Clinton, MO; five grandchildren, Tyler, and Tina Hendricks, D.J. Monday, Brittney, and Joshua Howardson; great-grandchildren, Holden Monday; brothers, Roger Bond of Windsor, MO; step-daughter, Inga (Danny) Monday, they live in Ottawa; step-son, Karl (Michelle) Howardson of Seneca.
Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Gibbs; one brother, Harold Bond; one sister, Beverly Ward.
Pallbearers include, Karl Howardson, DJ, and Danny Monday, Joe Brucker, Tina Hendricks, and Kipp Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
