Final Statement of Private Thomas Horton of Captain Thorne’s, Platt M. Company "C" of the 22nd Regiment of Infantry, born in Buckinghamshire in the state of England aged (at enlistment) 32 ½ years, 5 feet 4 inches high, Fair complexion, Brown eyes, L Brown hair, and by occupation a Farmer, was enlisted by Lieut Heyl at Camden N. J. on the 27th day of December, eighteen hundred and sixty six, to serve for 5 years, died at Post Hospital Camp Sheridan Wyo. of injuries contracted in the line of duty.
Additional records show, that while a member of a detachment of the 22nd Infantry en route from Lower Geyser Basin to Fort Keogh W. T., he sustained injuries by falling under the wheels of a moving wagon while trying to board it and died Oct. 1, 1888 at the age of 34 ½ years.
