Annette N. Albright, of Lake Placid, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, after a brief illness.

Born in St. Louis, Mo., she was the daughter of Hans P. and Alma (Boehme) Nahmensen. She received a Bachelor of Music degree from Fontbonne University in St. Louis and a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music.

She was a string specialist in the St. Louis Public Schools, Rochester New York Schools and Muncie Indiana Community Schools. Annette played violin and viola in the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra and the Muncie Symphony. She was a member of the American String Teachers Association, Mu Phi Epsilon International Professional Music Fraternity, where she served as a judge for music contests and as a chairperson of Service Projects.
She is survived by one sister, Ellen Anthony of Blue Hill, Maine, as well as three children and their spouses: Andrew and Beth Albright of Jericho, Vt., Margaret and Robert Krauss of Newtonville, Mass., and Timothy and Erin Albright of Scotia; and five grandchildren: Emily, Gabriel, Adam, Aimee and Jonathan.

Annette will be remembered as a long-time volunteer at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and the Lake Placid Sinfonietta where she served as program annotator and chairperson of the after concert receptions. Annette and her late husband Philip were active as teachers of ESL for Literacy Volunteers of Essex and Franklin Counties since retiring to Lake Placid in 1994.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, April 1, at the St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in May. The Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate.
