Bernice Leiber Allen, 82, of Anderson passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 2- 4pm Sunday at Nobles Funeral Chapel and funeral services are set for 10am Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with the Rev. Dan Schoessow officiating. Interment will follow in the Allen Family Cemetery.

Bernice was born in Anderson on September 12, 1928, the daughter of Will C. and Lena (Hemann) Leiber. She married Cicero Allen on November 18, 1949, and loved him until his passing in 2010. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 4006.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Earl and Kate Allen, brothers and sister-in-law, Erwin Leiber, twin brother, Burnett F. Leiber, Willie and Esther Leiber, and H.H. "Howard" Leiber, sister and brother-in-law, Elsie Leiber and Lonnie Pistler, nephews, Richard Schulze and James Hurst, nieces, Doris Hurst Wagner and Florence LaRose Massey, brothers-in-law, Charles Kenneth Allen, Milton Allen, Ira Truehitt, and Charles Youens, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Clero and Marvin Hurst, Luvenia and Eddie LaRose, Addie Earl and Richard Rutledge.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bud Trant of Anderson, grandson, Jim-Bob Trant and wife Lauren of Anderson, sisters-in-law, Kathryn Truehitt of Iola, Ann Hansen of Columbus, Doris Allen of Navasota, and Evelyn Leiber of Bryan, and brother and sister-in-law, C.W. and Karen Leiber of Friendswood.

Serving as pallbearers are B.F. "Bubba" Leiber, Jr. of Bryan, Randy Molitor of Anderson, Weyman Leiber of Spring, Gerald Leiber and Joseph Schulze, both of Anderson, and John Earl Truehitt of Lorena.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 4006, or the Zion Lutheran Church of Anderson.
