Miriam Cohen Abramowitz (1924 - 2011)

Miriam Cohen Abramowitz died peacefully Tuesday morning, Nov. 22, 2011, during her 87th year. Service: Following committal prayers at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 411 N. University Drive, Miriam will be laid to rest next to her husband Adolph. Rabbi Gary Perras and Rabbi Sidney Zimelman will officiate at the committal service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of one's choice , in her memory, is suggested.

A native and life resident of Fort Worth, Miriam was born Sept. 11, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Rosa Haller Cohen. Miriam graduated from R.L. Paschal High School in 1942 and married Adolph Leon Abramowitz in 1944. She was a member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom, the Ladies Auxiliary and retired from the Federal Housing Administration.

Survivors: In addition to her children, son, Mark Abramowitz and daughter, Joyce Abramowitz, Miriam is survived by her brother, Abe Cohen and his wife, Lee; sister, Dorothy Chaffin; several nieces and nephews and their families; and special friend, Linda Paddack.
