BELL, COOK—Of Berry, died at 10 a.m Wednesday, Aug 17, 1932, age 35 years. Survived by wife Della; son Clarence; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bell of Rochester, five brother, [sic] Sam, Clayton, Fred, Oddie, and Claud [sic], all of Rochester; and three sisters, Mrs. Rosie Young and Mrs. Zellie Smith of Rochester, and Mrs. Arlema Campbell of Jacksonville. FARMER IS FOUND SHOT TO DEATH
Rochester, Aug. 17.—Cook A. Bell of Berry was found dead this afternoon near the garage at his home. He had a gunshot wound in his head.

Bell, an unemployed veteran, had started to town with his family this morning when he returned home to change his clothes after getting them muddy. His family waited, but he did not return. Oddie Bell, a brother, found him dead.

Surviving are his wife, Della; one son, Clarence; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J[ames] B. Bell, Rochester; five brothers, Sam, Clayton, Fred, Oddie, and Claud all of Rochester; and three sisters, Mrs. Rosie Young, and Mrs. Zellie [Vivian] Smith of Rochester, and Mrs. Arlema [Emily] Campbell of Jacksonville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. (Illinois State Journal, Springfield, Illinois, August 18, 1932, p. 13).
