Catherine is buried here along with her husband and many of her children and grandchildren.

Mrs Catherine Alexander, mother of Mrs. J. H. Muthersbaugh, died at 9:30 o'clock Friday morning at the Muthersbaugh residence, 1557 North Water street. The cause of her death was heart trouble and pneumonia. She had been ill only since Wednesday morning. Her home was at 239 East Center street, but she was going to go to Atwood soon, to live there for a while.
Last Friday morning she went to the Muthersbaugh home to visit several days before going. She was taken sick there. She was born in southern Illinois and was 78 years old at the time of her death She came to Decatur about six years ago and prior to that time she had resided in Bement, having been a resident of that city for over thirty years. She is survived by four children.Thomas Alexander of Atwood, William Alexander of Champaign, Martha Holcomb of Rock Island and Mrs J. H Muthersbaugh of Decatur, also one brother, James M. Clapp, of Atwood.
The funeral services will consist of short services at the Muthersbaugh house next Monday morning and the body will then be taken to Atwood. Services will be held in the Harshberger church near Atwood at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon .
