|Birth: ||Sep. 25, 1843|
|Death: ||Feb. 21, 1902|
John Titzel Baker also had one child, Jesse Paul, b. 6/28/1901, with his second wife, Mary Amelia Lyons Baker (later Watts - see below). Survived only "2 days due to spasms", according to family records and cemetery monument.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Harrisburg March 2, 1865, mustered into federal service there March 9 as a private with the 104th Pennsylvania Infantry in the second organization of Co. F, and honorably discharged with his company August 25, 1865. (PS: I have images of his "muster in" at Camp Curtin and "muster out" at Portsmouth, VA. Some other reference to a John Baker from Bedford Co. PA (Pittsburgh) but I've found no connection.
More info (minutia) on marriages of J. T. Baker and Samuel T. Watts; interesting timeline:
1895: JTB 1st wife Mary Ellen Moul Baker dies
1900: JTB remarries 2nd wife Mary Amelia Lyons; JTB is 57 years old
1902: JTB dies
1905: Susan L Watts, first wife of Samuel T. Watts, dies
1908: Samuel T. Watts marries 2nd wife, Mary Amelia Lyons Baker. STW is 71 years old
1911: STW dies
1917: MALBW applies for 2nd widow's pension (see her memorial)
1928: MALBW dies
Somehow, it all fits....
Update: Family Record "Marriages" page shows Mary Ellen Moul's father, Joseph Moul, married Margaretta Lyons - somehow related to Mary Amelia Lyons? Small community. BTW, Joseph died at age 39 (Family Record "Deaths" page).
