Gerald E. Creager Sr. 81 a resident of the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Nursing Center, Coudersport, and formerly of Waynesboro, died at 5:30 A.M. Sunday, Nov 28, 1993 in the nursing center. He was in failing health for the past five years.
Born Aug 2, 1912, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Preston and Grace (Dull) Creager. He lived most of his life in the Waynesboro area.
He and his wife Pauline Julia (Crilly) Creager, were married May 6, 1950, in Westminster, Md. Mrs. Creager died Jan 5, 1983. They moved to Austin in 1976, and Mr. Creager entered the nursing center five years ago.
In his early life, he was employed for the Works Project Administration, Waynesboro. Prior to retiring in 1976, he was employed in the tap plant of Landis Machine Co., Waynesboro for 31 years.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1191, Waynesboro, and various hunting clubs.
He is survived by one daughter and one son, Saundra Jann Omer and Gerald E. Creager Jr., both of Blue Ridge Summit; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Creager of Waynesboro and Betty Mills of Mont Alto; one brother, Sidney E. Creager of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Marget Kauffman, on Feb 25, 1966.
