Mrs. Mary Bailey, widow of Henry Bailey died Thursday at the advance age of ninety years, lacking one month. She will be buried Sunday, meeting at the house at 2:30 o'clock thence to the Beartown church, where Rev. F. A. Cook will preside. Interment adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Bailey, whose maiden name was Bear was twice married, her first husband being Leo Gordon. The following children survive, Samuel J. Gordon, Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Laura E. Ferguson, Washington D. C.; Mrs. Margaret Martin, at home and Miss Alice Bailey, at home. also the following brothers and sisters; Jacob Bear, Bellwood, In., D. W. Bear, David City, Nb., Mrs. Sallie Rechard, Beartown.
Mrs. Bailey was on of the best known women in this section, having passed most of her life near here. Henry Bailey, her husband, was in his lifetime also a well known citizen. He was the first and for many years superintendent of the reservoir at Rattlesnake Dam for the Waynesboro Water Company and it was his pride as well as that of his family to maintain splendid sanitary conditions about the water supply of the town.
