Albert Anderson, 61, poultry superintendent at Napa Town and Country Fair for 21 years, died yesterday at Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Vallejo, after a 10-month illness.
Mr. Anderson was a cement finisher at Mare Island for many years and after his retirement because of disability he devoted his full time to raising fancy chickens, rabbits, pigeons, geese, ducks and turkeys at his home at 1001 Summitt Ave.
He was widely known throughout the fair and show circuit in California for his entries and was a consistent prize winner in competition with top breeders of fancy poultry. Mr. Anderson was the county 4-H Club rabbit adviser and was a member of 'numerous' poultry breeders' organizations and the local rabbit breeders club.
For the past three years he had served as a trustee of St. John's Lutheran Church, where funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. L E. Faasch officiating. Burial will be in Yountville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Treadway and Wiener Funeral Chapel until noon tomorrow. He is survived by his widow, Mary E. Anderson; and four sisters, Josephine Stella of Mandora, Wis., Emma Blacejyk of LaCrosse, Wis., Minnie Jandt of Bangor, Wis., where Mr. Anderson was born, and Gene Hielighr of Gulfport, Miss."
