Alberta Lorinda Adams, 65, formerly of DeLand, died in Rapid City SD of an apparent heart attack. The funeral will be Monday in Trigg Funeral Home with burial in DeLand Cemetery.
Miss Adams was born Nov. 24, 1910 at Flora, the d/o John Quincy and Daisy Bickel Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She leaves brothers: Leslie of Onarga; and Gaylord of Hot Springs ARK.
A registered nurse, she joined the staff of the Veterans Administration in 1950 and served at Ft. Baynard NM; Portland OR; Baltimore MD; and many others where she was chief nurse. She was in the Army Nursing Corps and retired a lieutenant colonel.
She served in Africa, Italy and the Philippines; she was retired from the Army Reserve. She was a member of the American Legion, the United Methodist Church and the church guild.
