Victim of Mill River Flood
William owned a sawmill and gristmill that sat on opposite banks of the river in Williamsburg. He was warned of the flood by Robert Loud, and had run home to check on the safety of his wife and two sons. While attempting to cross the river to get to his sawmill, he was knocked down by the water and carried downstream.
Services were held the next day (Sunday) at 3 pm from the Congregational Church.
