Albert A. Ambrose, 93, of Brockton, died Aug. 27, 2012, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center Spinal Cord Unit, Brockton, where he spent the past five years.
A graduate of Brockton High School, he grew up in the Lithuanian community, the Village, and proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He was the owner of Ambrose & York Music Co. in Brockton for many years until his retirement and later lived in East Bridgewater for 54 years before returning back to Brockton.
A great marksmen and member of the local Rod & Gun Club, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and would visit Nova Scotia once a year for many years.
During the winter he would ice fish and during the summer would compete in fishing tournaments, winning many trophies for blue fish and striped bass. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a certified scuba diver.
Albert was the son of the late Mike and Nelli Ambrose; husband of the late Madelyn Ambrose and Barbara J. Ambrose; devoted father of Albert M. Ambrose of Bonita Springs, Fla., Sandra Martig of Mashpee and Linda Mehegan Bouldry and her husband Russell of Brant Rock; father-in-law of the late John A. Martig III.
All are welcome to gather Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. service in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Interment to follow in Central Cemetery, Middleboro.
