Yvonne Barclay, 87, of San Antonio, passed away, Monday, August 31, 2015 at Oakwell Farms Assisted Living Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 beginning at 10 a.m. until service time at 12:00 noon at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Seamans Cemetery near Chester. Officiating will be Brother Larry Trest.
Yvonne was born August 23, 1928 to William & Ethel Camp Dodson in Palestine, Texas. She was formerly of Chester and was a longtime resident of San Antonio. She loved to read and sew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernard Barclay; parents, William & Ethel Dodson; daughter, Connie Bennett; brothers, Henry Dodson, Earl Dodson & E.K. Dodson; and sisters, Marie Hamby and Joyce McKenzie.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Barclay & wife, Kathy of San Antonio; sister, Omaleta King of Magnolia; grandchildren, Meredith Adams, Michael Barclay & wife, Nadine, Susan Sperlik & husband, Scott, Kimberlee Bennett, and Kelley Bennett; great grandchildren, Lily Adams, Avah Barclay, Sophia Barclay, Seth Sperlik, Sawyer Sperlik, Sullivan Sperlik, and Elias Bennett.Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
