MRS. BAUMGARTNER, 84, DIES
AT HER HOME IN CLARKSTON
Mrs. Philippina Baumgartner, 84, resident of Clarkston for 29 years, and a former resident of the Genesee community, died Monday, March 22, at 2:30 a.m. Death came after an illness of six years.
Of a well-known family in this community, Mrs. Baumgartner was born at Hofsletten, Germany, Jan. 9, 1864, and came to the United States in 1882. She made her home first a Lewiston, later at Uniontown and for many years at Genesee. She married Henry Baumgartner Feb. 7, 1888, the latter passing away in November, 1930. Surviving the late desceased are two sons, W. J. and Geo. J. Baumgartner, Genesee; three daughters, Mrs. P.H. Kasper, Moscow; Mrs. John Kluss, Genesee, and Rosalia Baumgartner, Clarkston. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Rosary serices were conducted Monday night at Merchant's chapel in Clarkston. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 9:00 from Holy Family Catholic church in Clarkston, with the Rev. Fr. Hugo Pautler officiating. Interment was at the Genesee Catholic cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph and Donald Baumgartner, Charles Baumgartner and Robert Broemeling of Genesee; Philip Kasper of Moscow, and Don Springer of Orofino.
