Son of Robert Voyer and Marie-Madeleine Trepanier (also recorded as Trepagny).

At 22, he married Cecile Gagnon (21yo) in Chateau-Richer on 8 November 1723.
A widower, at 29, he remarried with Angelique-Felicite Samson at Notre-Dame de Quebec on 25 August 1731.

They settled in Quebec City where Pierre-Gervais was a baker. They had at least three children together.

As a resident of Quebec City, Pierre served as a Canadian militiaman in the Quebec District Militia during the Battle of Quebec in the Seven Year's War (French and Indian War/Guerre de la Conquete).

As part of the Quebec District Militia, his unit covered the right wing of the French forces on the Plains of Abraham under the direction of General Dumas, together with the Regiment de la Sarre.

He died aged 58 from wounds received during the Battle of the Plains of Abraham (morning of 13 September 1759) and was buried at the Hopital General de Quebec on 14 September 1759.
