Albert J. "Jack" Berry of Libertyville A graveside service for Albert J. "Jack" Berry, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Aarrowood Cemetery in Vernon Hills. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville. Born Nov. 22, 1924, in Lake Forest, he passed away Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Condell Medical Center. He was raised in Libertyville where he was a 1942 graduate of Libertyville High School. Following high school, Jack served with the Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4308 in Lake Villa. He was also a charter member of the World War II Memorial Society. Jack retired as Chief of Police in River Forest, Ill., having served the department for 27 years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #46. He is survived by his wife, Adeline; one daughter, Susan Berry of Deerfield; and brother, Frederick (Faye) Berry of Pasadena, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah (nee Oldfield) Berry; and father, Albert Berry, who was the gardener on the Adler Estate many years ago.
