Jimmy Edward Brown, 70, of Candler, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2007.

Mr. Brown was a son of the late Harold R. and Ola McFee Brown and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy F. Brown, and Joseph R. Brown.

He retired from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, and had previously worked at American Enka Corp.

Jimmy loved and trusted the Lord. He was a faithful member of Pole Creek Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board and was a Sunday School teacher. He was also a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.

Jimmy was a wonderful husband, dad, and "Pappaw Jimmy." He was a kind and loving man who cared deeply for his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Melba Trantham Brown, of Candler; two loving daughters, Debbie B. Sitton and husband, Randy E., of Edneyville, and Denise B. Powell and husband Ken, of Hendersonville; devoted granddaughter, Mandy C. Brown and husband Douglas W., of Candler; two special great-grandchildren, Veston Edward Brown and Cassandra Denise Brown, whom he loved and adored; and many nephews and nieces.

Burial will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Cemetery
