Mary Julia Pena Aguilar, age 80, passed away on September 8, 2006 at her residence in Vaughn following a long illness. Mary Julia was born October 25, 1925 in Walsenburg, Colorado.

She was reared and attended schools in Encino. Mary Julia married Cipio Jose Aguilar in 1954.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Vaughn Senior Citizens. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, watching TV and her plants. Mary Julia was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family.

She is preceded in death by her father Candido Pena, her husband Cipio Aguilar, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include her children; Herman Jose Aguilar and wife Catrina of Big Spring, TX, Mary Ellen Aguilar of Vaughn, Esther Marie Shonk and husband Walter Donald of Big Spring, TX, and Edwina Rose Aguilar of Vaughn.

Also surviving are sisters Rosella Felix and Vera Sierra both of Walsenberg, CO, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
