Lauretta M. Black, 72, of Paxton Run Road, Newburg, died at 6:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in her home.

Born May 16, 1930, in Wells Tannery, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Beulah Curfman Newman.

She attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Scott Miller; a stepdaughter and a stepson; and four brothers, Moody Newman, Marshall Newman, Max Newman and John Newman.

Surviving are her second husband, Charles Black; nine stepchildren, Clair Stoops, John Black, James Black, Doris Diehl and Denver Black, all of Newburg, Robert Black of Shippensburg, Donald Black of Orrstown, Charles Black of Chambersburg and James Miller of Saltillo; 20 stepgrandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Delilah Ebersole of Elizabethtown.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Otterbein United Methodist Church, 15634 Paxton Run Road, Newburg. Pastor Bonnie Ort and the Rev. Charles Rhodes will officiate.

Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Ridge Road, Shippensburg.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, and one hour before the service Tuesday in the church.
