Ole Dahl was born in Norway March 18, 1877. He came to this country in 1900 living in Greenfield Township, Griggs County for a few years before coming to McLean County to file on land in Snow Township. He didn't live on this land constantly but worked for others in the area, returned to Griggs County to work, proved his homestead land by living on it three years or more and spent many years with his brother, Olai, eleven miles south of Benedict in Greatstone and Malcolm townships, making his home there until 1952 when he entered a nursing home in Wilton, North Dakota. Later, he went into the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Minot, North Dakota. Ole passed away, Auguast 29, 1956 in a Minot Hospital following an illness of two months.
