The funeral and interment exercises of the late Mrs. Curtis Boyd Adams, wife of Archie L. Adams, were held at the Laurens cemetery last Thursday afternoon in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives. The services were conducted by the Rev. S. H. Tenpleman, past of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams had been ill for several months and her death, which occurred Wednesday at a Lynchburg hospital, was not unexpected, although the news of her departure caused a shock to her many friends in Laurens. Accompanied by members of the family, including Mrs. Ellen McCravy, a sister of the deceased who had been in Lynchburg for several days before the end came, the remains of Mrs. Adams were brought to Laurens Thursday morning and carried to the home of Mrs. J. S. Bennett, another sister. Her the body remained until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Adams was a native of Laurens and here spent her happy girlhood days and at different intervals after her marriage to Mr. Adams, the family had lived in the city. She was an estimable woman and her passing is regretted by a large circle of friends. Besides the husband the deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Price R. Reid and Mrs. Clara Kennedy, and one son, James Adams, in the United State Army. Three sisters also survive – Mrs. Harlo Hix, Mrs. Ellen McCravy, Mrs. J. S. Bennett, all of Laurens, and two brothers, William M. Boyd of Fountain Inn and Jas. H. Boyd of Laurens.
