Morris Baskin, Paducah businessman for 38 years, died at 2:30 a.m. today at Western Baptist Hospital. He was 61.

Mr. Baskin, who owned Paducah Hide and Junk Company, was born in Minsk, Russia. He came to America when he was 12 years old, and moved from St. Louis to Paducah in 1921.

He was a member of Temple Israel and B'nai B'rith. Mr. Baskin belonged to Paducah Lodge No. 127, F and A M, the Scottish Rite, The Rizpah Temple of Madisonville and the Shrine Club of Paducah.

Mr. Baskin was an ardent horseman, and was well-known throughout this area for his participation in horse shows.

Funeral Wednesday
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Baskin; two sons, Elliott Baskin of Paducah and Nathaniel Baskin of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Goldford of St. Louis, Mo., and Miss Susan Fay Baskin of Paducah; a brother, Jacob Baskin of Lithuania; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Marshall of Chicago; three grandchildren, Dennis, Marc and Bruce Goldford, all of St. Louis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesay at Roth Funeral Chapel, with Rabbi Max Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Temple Israel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randall Peck, Jack Tick, Louis Tick, Floyd Lovelace, Gus Kappas and Paul Metzger.

Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Basham, Clyde Peel, Nex Peck, Clyde F. Boyles, Sam Sloan, Fred Nagel, Edgar Metzger, Noble Clark, J. V. Potter, Ed Michael and Sam Finkel.
