NEW BEDFORD – Aline G. (Quirk) Blasingame, 86, formerly of Fairhaven, died Sunday, October 18, 2009, at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a long illness. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Rose (Martel) Quirk, she lived most of her life in Fairhaven before entering the nursing home five years ago.

Aline was a seamstress at Cliftex for more than twenty-five years until her retirement. “Nana,” as everyone knew her, was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and especially cooking for them.

She is survived by a son, Walter “Sonny” Blasingame of Palm City, FL; three sisters, Lucy Lamontagne, Blanche “Chick” Souza and Tilly Rodriques; three granddaughters, Kerrie Constant of Swansea, Tracy Brett of Freetown and Meaghen Blasingame of New Bedford; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Logan, Dylen and Darrick; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, George “Bo,” Dick, Loretta, Doris and Annie.

Her funeral will be Friday, October 23, 2009, at 9:00AM, from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Mattapoisett.
