Carol May Acevedo, age 78, of Bunnell, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Carol was born February 19, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York., the daughter of James and Jessie Jacoby Mace.
Carol met and married William Acevedo in 1958 and they had three daughters. In the late 1960’s the family moved to South Florida. Carol was a Christian and loved the Lord. She was a loving wife, wonderful and beloved mother to her daughters, and a kind and caring friend. She was known for her cheerfulness, her sweet nature and her infectious laughter. She is remembered lovingly by her nephews with many fond memories of summer vacations spent with Carol and Williams’s family in South Florida.
The family loved to go on road trips to the Rocky Mountains and other favorite places especially Yellowstone National Park. Carol loved gardening and growing orchids, raising Monarch Butterflies, doing arts and crafts, listening to music and singing, and watching classic old movies. She loved and collected Kewpie Dolls and she was a huge Tim Tebow fan.
Carol’s beloved husband of 57 years, William Acevedo, passed away on February 6, 2016.
Carol is survived by her three daughters, Veronica Merenda, Jennifer Ahrens, and Saadia Schroeder.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 28th at 12:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach. Interment will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
