Donald Ray Adams, 61, resident of Birchwood Drive, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Northview Church of Christ with Jeremy Butt and Gregg Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols and Monday after 2:00 p.m. at the church.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Elmore Adams, Sr. and Mamie Alexander Adams. For sixteen years, he was supervisor of the Maintenance Department for Walker Die Casting Company and previously was employed at Occidental Corporation for seventeen years.

Mr. Adams was a devoted family man and friend and avid outdoorsman. He was a member of Northview Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of forty years. Shirley Scott Adams of Columbia; son, Brian Adams of Columbia; and sisters, Patricia Roland of Columbia and Margaret Wells Crumley of Watertown. He was preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn King, Dorothy Coffman Huff, Mary Monroe, and Linda Rose; brothers Elmore Adams, Jr. and James Adams.

Active pallbearers are Ronnie Roland, Brent Roland, Ellis Jarratt, Robbie Jarratt, Jim Moore, Andrew Moore, Roger Scott, and Andrew Scott. Honorary pallbearers include Barry King, Eddie Scott, Josh Woody, Donny Clark, Wendell Jump, Charlie Spires, Marty Tyree, employees of Walker Die Casting Company, Dr. Gibran Naddy, Dr. Moatz Toban, and staff of the Oncology Department of Maury Regional Medical Center.
