Son of William Martin Green and Nancy Virginia Green (yes, Green was her maiden name as well). Ashland Daily Independent July 2, 1945 publishing date: James F. Green died Sunday morning. James Flloyd Green, 77, retired farmer, died Sunday at 5 a.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Effie Darby, 1631 Greenup Ave., following a brief illness. Mr. Green, a native of Elliott county., Ky, had resided in Ashland for the last 20 years./The body was removed to the Lazear Funeral Home, where it will remain for funeral services which will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Reverend John McNurlin officiating at the last rites. Burial will be made in the Hart Cemetery, Boyd Co./Surviving are one son, Earl Green, Portsmouth Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Darby, Ashland and Mrs. Nola Ison, Georgetown South Carolina; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Barber of Fullerton, Ky and Mrs. Mina Blevins, Wurtland, Ky. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
