Edith Albertina Anderson Crayton, age 86, of DeKalb, IL passed away on Friday, February 4, 2005 at the Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb, IL. She was born in Momence, IL on February 5, 1918, the daughter of Oscar and Catherine (Galusha) Anderson.
She was united in marriage on March 6, 1937 to Edward Marion Crayton and they spent 60 happy years of their lives together until his passing on December 20, 1997. Edith was a long-time member of the Pierce Community United Methodist Church in Maple Park, IL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her seven children, Barbara (Jule) DuBois of Polo, IL, Pat (Darold) Cutsinger of Sugar Grove, IL, Edward L. Crayton of Hinckley, IL, Melody Cies Crayton of Waterman, IL, Ronald Crayton of Wheaton, IL, Deborah (Dean) Downing of Waterman, IL and Michael (Crayton) of Maple Park, IL; her 28 grandchildren; her 41 great grandchildren; her brothers, Robert (Ellen) Anderson of Phoenix, AZ and Cecil (Pat) Anderson of CA; her two sisters, Betty Duguay of Bourbonnais, IL and Francis Jones of AR; her sisters-in-law, Helen Anderson, Ruth Anderson and Helen (Dellas) LaFond; her brothers-in-law, Carter White and John (Susan) Crayton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; her three brothers; her one sister; her one-sister-in-law; her one brother-in-law; her one son-in-law and her one great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Cortland United Methodist Church, 4409 Chestnut St. in Cortland, IL with Pastor Sandi Graber officiating. Interment will follow in Pierce Cemetery, Maple Park, IL.
Friends may call from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 Maple St. in Hinckley, IL.
